Marlon Wayans: I Saw Biggie And Tupac Before They Were Shot

Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans was recently on the Big Boy TV podcast and spoke about seeing rappers Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur 20 minutes before they were shot.

Speaking specifically about seeing Biggie before he was shot, Marlon Wayans said: “I saw Biggie 20 minutes before he got shot. I was on the escalator coming down. He goes, yo, I love what you and your family’s doing. Keep doing it. I love y’all. Keep rocking. I love y’all.”

Marlon continues, “And he was like, I’m a fan. I was like, I love you man. I gave him a hug. I was like, I’m a fan of yours man. You that dude. And then 20 minutes later”

Marlon states that 20 minutes after that encounter with rapper Biggie Smalls, he was shot.

On March 8, 1997, Biggie attended the Soul Train Awards after party. At the party, at around 12:30 am, the next day, March 9th, the fire department allegedly closed the party early due to overcrowding. Rapper Biggie Smalls left with his entourage in two GMC Suburbans to return to his hotel.

The rapper’s vehicle drove about 50 yards before it stopped at a red light when a black Chevy Impala drove up beside it. The driver of the Impala rolled down his window and fired at Biggie’s car. Biggie was driven to the hospital and he was pronounced dead at 1:15am.

Biggie Smalls was only 24 years old. 15 years after Biggies death his autopsy was released and it showed that only the final shot was fatal. Biggie Small’s autopsy showed that the final shot entered through his right hip, and struck his colon, liver, heart and left lung before stopping in his left shoulder

Biggie Smalls is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. He released two super classic studio albums, Ready To Die and Life After Death. He also released a collaboration album, Conspiracy, with Junior M.A.F.I.A.

After his death another collaboration album was released, The King And I with Faith Evans and two compilation albums, Born Again and Duets: The Final Chapter.

Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations: Told by Greg Kading, a much-decorated LAPD detective assigned to solve the homicides, Murder Rap unravels a twisted tale of music, money, and murder, finally answering the question of who killed Biggie and Tupac and why.

Malron Wayans proceeds to describe seeing rapper and actor Tupac 20 minutes before he was shot. He says, “I saw Tupac, 20 minutes before he got shot. I saw Pac when he was leaving the Luxor Hotel and Pac was out there and he was with his gang of people. And I was like, yo, what’s up Pac!

Marlon continues, “So we went over to say bye to Pac. You know, give him love. And we got in the cab and the way Pac was looking. His BMW pulled up.”

Marlon concludes that “twenty minutes later” Tupac was shot.

On September 7, 1996, Tupac attended the Mike Tyson versus Bruce Seldon heavyweight boxing match alongside Death Row Records owner, Suge Knight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the fight Tupac Shakur is shown on surveillance video, alongside other members of his entourage, stomping on South Side Compton Crip, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson.

Tupac then stopped by his hotel room and then headed with Suge Knight to Suge’s nightclub, Club 662, in a black BMW. At around 11:15pm, at a stop light, a white Cadillac Sedan pulled up beside the BMW and fired into it

Tupac was driven by Suge Knight to the hospital, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. He was heavily sedated and put on life support. On September 13, 1996, while in ICU, Tupac was pronounced dead from internal bleeding. He was 25 years old.

Tupac Shakur has 9 platinum albums and 7 posthumous albums. He has sold over 75 million albums that total 713 songs.  He also starred in 7 movies. Tupac Shakur did all of this by the age of 25.

And as always we like to close with a saying, quote or adage and today’s is from Tupac Shakur: DEATH IS NOT THE GREATEST LOSS IN LIFE. THE GREATEST LOSS IS WHAT DIES INSIDE WHILE STILL ALIVE. NEVER SURRENDER.
