THE LONGEVITY OF CASH MONEY RECORDS
Cash Money Records was founded in 1991 by brothers Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams.
Birdman explains why the brothers started Cash Money Records rap label: “I was hoping it would get us out of the projects and into a positive way of life. And we wanted to help other people get out of this poverty.”
Though started in 1991, Cash Money’s breakout year was undoubtedly in 1998 with the release of New Orleans rapper Juvenile’s hit single Ha.

Cash Money records has some of the hottest artists in music today that include, perhaps the most popular artist in the world, Drake. Other artists include Lil. Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Birdman himself.
