Irv Gotti Explains Why No Rapper Is 2Pac

When the debate comes up regarding who are the greatest rappers of all time, 2Pac more often than not is in the conversation.

What puts 2Pac in the conversation can differ from his lyrics, to his impact not only in Hip Hop but in the world, to his persona and the like.

However, Irv Gotti, the CEO and founder of Murder Inc Records gives a different perspective on why no rapper is 2Pac and it has nothing to do with his skills on the mic.

Irv Gotti’s proposition on why no rapper is 2Pac dates back to October 30th, 1993, when 2Pac shot two off duty cops in Atlanta.

The shooting occurred after a 2Pac performance at Clark Atlanta University. After the show 2Pac and his entourage were on their way to their hotel when 2Pac spotted two White men beating up a Black man.

Unbeknownst to 2Pac at the time the two white men were off duty cops. The men were clearly intoxicated and drew guns on 2Pac demanding that he return to his car.

With that said, 2Pac would eventually pull out his own gun and shoot at the two men hitting one in the abdomen and the other in the buttocks.

2Pac would eventually turn himself in for the shooting incident. And all charges would later be dropped because it was determined that 2Pac fired his gun in self defense.

The off duty officers were inebriated and the guns that they had were stolen from a police evidence locker.
