The second member of rap group Tha Dogg Pound, Daz Dillenger, aka Daz, brought some revelation to hip hop in an interview on the podcast, Homegrown. On the podcast Daz claims Nas was originally on the 2Pac song, Got My Mind Made Up.
The co-host of the show said to Daz, “Snoop claimed that Nas wasn’t originally on Got My Mind Made up.”
If you’ll recall, Got My Mind Made Up, is a song on 2Pac’s first Death Row album, All Eyez On Me. It features Daz, Kurupt, Method Man and Redman.

NAS LAYS HIS VERSE DOWN
Regarding what Snoop Dogg said that Nas wasn’t originally on 2Pac’s Got My Mind Made up, Daz says: “Dogg didn’t know what he was talking about. He wasn’t there.”
Daz goes on to explain how Nas was on the original song and how his verse got taken off the song. Daz says, “We met Nas in Philly. And then Nas came to California. We was at Larry B Studio.”
HOW THE NAS VERSE DIDN’T MAKE THE ALBUM
Daz goes on further to explain how the Nas verse didn’t make the final cut for 2Pac’s album, All Eyez On Me: “Then 2Pac heard it and said take him off…I came back in the studio and the ni**a done laid him a verse already. I just went out and pulled it up. I’m like damn.”

WHY DID TUPAC HAVE THE VERSE REMOVED
In the interview Daz does not get into why 2Pac had the Nas verse removed. However, if one is to speculate, certainly one of the reasons why 2Pac had the verse removed was because of the so-called “East Coast, West Coast War” that was going on at the time.
During that time period 2Pac was in an uncommunicative conversation period with certain rappers, to say the least.
NAS DISSED BY TUPAC ON MAKAVELI
Though Tupac had dissed Nas flagrantly on several occasions, on and off music tracks, and Nas had sent disses subliminally, they both recount stories of running into each other and agreeing to put their differences behind them.
NAS DISS ON MAKAVELI
It’s accurately told by various label mates of Tupac that he was going to remove Nas disses of his forthcoming album, Makaveli.
However, this didn’t happen because Tupac was assassinated before he had an opportunity to remove the disses. Death Row Records would go on to release Tupac’s first posthumous album, with the Nas disses. Tupac wasn’t alive to remove them, so they stayed.
WHAT ABOUT THE NAS VERSE?
In the interview Daz eludes that the Nas verse that was originally on the song Got My Mind Made Up was used on Tha Dogg Pound song, Don’t Stop Keep Goin.
Daz says: “Nas Came in there and laid that don’t stop keep going.”
